Calathea
Calathea are a genus of flowering plants in the family Marantaceae. They are commonly called prayer plants because the open and close with the daylight!
Fun Fact: Around 200 species of Calathea were recently re-named to the genus Goeppertia. Calathea now currently contain only around 60 species.

Basic Care Tips and Tricks:
1. Calathea prefer brighter light, but not direct, too much sun can burn the leaves.
2. Calathea prefer a little more humidity than other house plants. They also like water with as less minerals as possible to reduce the browning of leaves.
3. Water your Calathea when it is about 50% dry. Your plant wont want to dry all they way out, but does not want to sit in wet soil.
